White Kitchens

White kitchens are chosen more often by our clients than any other color or finish!

Often homeowners will choose white perimeter cabinets (the cabinets that are placed against the walls around the room) with an alternate color or finish for an island or other feature piece.

In the photo above, the perimeter cabinets are a square inset face frame design with concealed hinges.  The kitchen island has a two-tone milk paint finish; red under-tones with a brushed blue topcoat to give it an aged appearance.

White cabinets, if they're kept clean, give a kitchen a fresh feel.  They will also make it feel brighter and our opinion will make the space feel larger than dark cabinets.

We love Aaron & Jennie's traditional white kitchen!  This is a great southern Alberta family home! With custom inset cabinets, exposed barrel hinges, the painted v-joint ceiling, the old schoolhouse light fixtures, the white chairs; all of this makes this a wonderful space!  See more photos here.

This Bowen Island cottage white kitchen, near Vancouver, British Columbia, is a great example of where white was used to give the space a larger feel.  It's only about 14' wide, but the slightly vaulted bead-board ceiling and walls all contribute to the overall fresh clean feel.

On a more grand scale, this Shaughnessy, Vancouver off-white kitchen also makes use of the light color to create an even larger feeling of space.
