Project Description

Alisoun’s Douglas Fir Kitchen

Alisoun’s douglas fir kitchen is as unique as she is!  Like most of our clients, Alisoun knew what she wanted.

One of the goals for this kitchen was to create an inviting space where guest could comfortably watch Alisoun, cook. The solution was the large “L” shaped island with the raised curved backside.  You’ll also notice the kitchen bench, facing into the kitchen and backing onto the family room.

The open glass cabinets provide a place to display a pottery collection.

The kitchen island is stained beech.  The tiger maple top was sourced locally.

We loved working with Alisoun and her husband on this project!

This was a wonderful collaborative project involving the homeowners, the architect, the builder and ourselves.  Proof that designing from a distance of coast to coast really is possible and with great finished results.  Cabinets were built in British Columbia, Canada and shipped to Maryland, were they were installed by local cabinet installers.
